XRRA AlbuquerqueTech Inspection
PPR Racing: PPR Racing is a Colorado Springs, CO based team competing in the XRRA West Series. Currently in their third year of competition, PPR Racing is fielding two racers this season: The #41 Cadillac powered single seater driven by team owner Eric Holder with Tom Guaraldo owner of FlexOnThis.com and RIDE Motorsports as his spotter, and the #24 Ultimate Rover driven by Luke Bagley with Chris Rubin as co-driver. This blog will give you a behind the scenes look as to all of what is involved in racing in this top off road series.
5/2 6:50 AM: Last night Josh from Rock Ware and the whole PPR team did final prep on the #41 single seater. By nights end the #41 was loaded into the Rock Ware trailer to be transported down to the race. After a few hours of sleep we just rolled into back into Pikes Peak Rovers, Chris is doing final prep on the #24 Ultimate Rover while we clean out the trailer and get ready head out to New Mexico. Here are some pictures from the final prep: ![]() 12:20 PM: We just crossed into New Mexico and we are now caravaning with XXRA Team #20 - Ground Control Offroad. 1:35 PM: We ran into JT Taylor with the #13 Tube Shark racer about 2 hours out from the race site. 4:30 PM: Just pulled into the raceway, Matt from Rock Ware had unloaded the car and took it out to show off for Channel 13 News, I guess it will be on the local news here in Albuquerque tonight. Luke and Chris are unloading the #24 Ultimate Rover. Time for a final once over before we go tech. 5:00 PM: Eric's car has a constant crowd around it, everyone is looking at what they did and how they did it, it is definitely the talk of tech inspection, at least as far as the other competitors are concerned. ![]() 5:25 PM: Eric went through tech first, and being a new car he had to both be checked for head room and do the timed exit, which he passed. The only issues for the new #41 were lexan needing to be added by Erics legs and a tether added to the kill. We will take care of both of these tonight and we will be doing a final adjustment on the rear shocks. Luke passed tech with no issues. ![]() 7:00 PM: The shocks have been adjusted, Chris build the leg protector and we walked the course, the course isn't the most picturesque, so we'll wait to tomorrow to show you. Chris and Luck have looked it over and have their lines. Eric and I are pretty excited, it's real tight turning which really favors Eric's side to side cutting set up. Now it is time to run into town, get some food, drink some beers and get ready for tomorrow. Thanks for following, we'll talk to you tomorrow, wish us luck! |
